Ilan Goldfajn was president of the Central Bank of Brazil from June 2016 until March 2019. In 2018, he was elected “Central Banker of the Year” by The Banker magazine. Ilan was Chief-Economist and partner of Itaú Unibanco, founding partner of Ciano Investimentos and partner of Gávea Investimentos.
Mr. Goldfajn was a professor at PUC – Pontifícia Universidade Católica and Brandeis University (USA). During his career, he has published several articles and books, he also served as a consultant to international organizations (such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations) in other international and Brazilian banks, and aldo to the Government of Brazil. Mr. Goldfajn holds a bachelor degree in economics from UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro), a master’s degree in economics from PUC in Rio de Janeiro and a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technolog
