Marcelo Barbosa is the President of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Law School of Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and a master’s degree in Law (LL.M) from Columbia University, New York, USA. He was a professor of Commercial Law – Sociedades Anônimas da UERJ (2000-2001) and Corporate Law under the Continued Education Program developed by FGV-Rio (2007-2015). Since 2016, he is also a professor of Case Studies of Corporate Law and Capital Market at FGV-Rio. He was the President of the Managing Counsel of Fundação Estudar, member of the Advisory Board of Columbia Global Centers Latin America (Rio de Janeiro) and the Committee of Acquisitions and Mergers (CAF), and tax advisor of Fundação Lemann. Author of articles on Corporate Law and Capital Market, and speaker in conferences in Brazil and abroad.
